Though I officially finished my exams last Friday, it feels like I’ve been done for over a week! From today, I’ll have 3 more weeks before I officially start working. So asides from studying, this is what I’ve been up to the past week:
Assassin’s Creed II
This was an accident. I meant to buy the first one, but when I got home and started playing, I realized I bought 2 instead. No big deal, as this game turned out to be friggin awesome. I love the graphics and the details – I find myself walking around just to check out the buildings and people! I also like how you have to solve puzzles and mysteries, so it’s not just a button mashing game. Of course, that’s not to say the fighting part isn’t fun either, though I’m still trying to get a hang of the jumping technique.

Totally badass. I can't believe I didn't start playing till now!
Highly recommend this game for people who want a bit of everything: rpg, puzzles, and fighting.
(But wait, there is more! Read on…)

I first heard of macarons on Gossip Girl, and ever since then I’ve been curious about these French delicacies. I told my boyfriend about these macarons, and the next thing you know, he orders a box of them from The Macaron Cafe in New York City. Oh my goodness they’re delicious! :9 If you’ve never heard of, or had macarons before, they’re these round little pastries from France with a a crispy-crunchy crust with soft, meringue-like filling in the middle, and they come in all sorts of flavors and pretty colors
But apparently, I haven’t tasted anything until I’ve been to Laduree, a famous macaron maker from Paris with a branch in New York City. So of course, I had to visit when I was there last weekend for my birthday
My boyfriend and another friend came with me, and initially I felt a little bad for them since they really don’t care for macarons, but safe to say, this trip changed their minds

We were there just when they started the Hello Kitty promotion!
The line didn’t seem bad from the outside, but then I realized that there was an even longer line inside the store!
Apparently the Ladurees in France are much bigger and offer seating, but the one in NYC was quite small.

Displays of macarons! I wonder how long those macarons have been on there...
My boyfriend and our friend shared a box of 8 macarons while I ordered a regular box of 8 as well as a Hello Kitty edition box of 8. After we got out of the shop, we all had some, and holy macaroni these are out of the universe! After you bite into one it just sort of melts in your mouth. I can’t describe it, but uh, I finished all 16 of mine within 2 days. Even the guys were raving about how good they were, and that’s when you know a dessert is good

super cute box and bag!
I wish I had taken a picture of the actual macarons before I scarfed them down, but at least I’ll have the pretty bags and Hello Kitty box as keepsake
Mental note to self: buy the 16-piece box next time!
Have you guys tried macarons before? If not, what’s your favorite dessert?
