Eyes, lips, and nails – a drugstore haul

Hello everyone, hope y’all had a lovely weekend :) Ever since I started working full-time my weekends have been a lot less exciting. As a matter of fact, the highlight of my weekend was being able to go to CVS and splurge on some eyes, lips, and nails goodies xD

Nail polishes, lip sticks, lip glosses, and eye shadows

Some of these were products I’ve been wanting to try for a while, and others were sort of an impulse buy. But overall, I’m pretty happy with what I got :D

From left: Wet & Wild Wild Shine in Hallucinate, Wet & Wild Wild Shine in Sparked, Essie Luxeffects in As Gold as it Gets

The Wet & Wild polishes were a total steal for just $0.99, each. As Gold As It Gets is my first Essie nail polish, and it looked so gorgeous in the bottle that I couldn’t pass it up.

From left: L’oreal Colour Caresse in Sunset Angora, L’oreal Colour Caresse in Merino Mauve, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sky City Pink, and Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Pop

So I finally returned the disappointing L’oreal Colour Riche Balms and exchanged them for their lipsticks, which have been totally amazing. I definitely want to stock up on other colors now :)

The Revlon lipstick was a total miss for me – the color was too sheer, too light, and too shimmery. However, the lip gloss was a hit! Love how it gives my lips the perfect pop of color it needs :]

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr cream gel shadows (from top): Bad to the Bronze, Barely Beige, and Bold Gold

I tried the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr cream gel shadows once in the past and didn’t like them, but after hearing everyone else rave about them, I decided to give them another try. Turns out I got a bad batch my previous purchase, because these are AWESOME. Everything from the color payoff to the staying power is just great.

I’ve been using Barely Beige as my shadow base/primer1 and for work I’ve just been using Bad to the Bronze to give my lids some color. I think Barely Beige is a limited edition shade for Fall 2012, so if you’re interested you should pick one up when you get the chance.

That’s it for my drugstore haul :) Have you tried any of these products before? If not, let me know if you’re interested in reviews or swatches!

I love love love Essie As Gold As It Gets — it’s one of my favorite topcoats! It adds a bit of flair if you feel your polish is lacking :)

I agree! I’m looking forward to adding that to my darker polishes this fall :D

I love Essie, and As Gold as it Gets is one of my favorites, even though I don’t really like yellow gold. I’m definitely going to be wearing it a lot this fall, I think it will look fab over some pretty jewel tones. I also like the look of the Revlon lipstick in Sky City Pink, just looks like the perfect shade.

I’m not a fan of yellow gold either, but that Essie color just looks too pretty to pass up :D
Sky City Pink looked really nice in the tube, but God it looked awful on my lips :( Maybe you’ll have better luck with it?

I love the nail polishes you got! Especially the Essie gold one :) It’s gorgeous! The nude and light pink lipsticks look so pretty, too! <3

I wish the Essie polish looked as gorgeous as on my nails as it does in the bottle, but it’s still quite nice :)

Nice haul! I haven’t painted my nails in years, but I like looking at the pretty colors, especially shiny ones :3 I like the colors you chose on the gel shadows too!

I love painting my nails, especially since it’s the only thing that helps me to not bite them D:

I’ve been eyeing the 24hr cream gel shadows! But I’m not sure shade to pick or what kind of brush to use O_o I get excited going to CVS, too. It’s a nice break from school and work :)

I love natural shades, and the ones I got were great, but they also have some very bright colors which look gorgeous :D I usually just use my fingers to apply them, I find that it works better than brushes, haha

During the summer my lunch breaks at work were spent at Duane Reade eyeing the Wet & Wild polishes because they are 1/4 the price of most polishes. Since you are finally writing about them I have to ask – are the colors good for that cheap of a price?

You’re allowed to return makeup products? Wow. It also kind of bothers me that I’ve never seen lipstick in those lovely shades before. My chances at buying makeup is always at outlets and they only seem to have deep red. =(

From the initial swatches the purple one wasn’t bad, but the white one was eh. I’ll need to do a full application to really tell though, but for the price, is’t not bad at all :D

CVS has a very generous return policy, so I love shopping for makeup there :P And the prices are good if you can stack up the CVS bucks + discounts :)
