I’ve been loving blazers lately as it really dresses up an outfit. However, it’s important that you find one that fits well and cinches the waist area to get a more flattering silhouette.
Fur scarves are not only really comfortable and warm, but they also add a luxurious touch to any winter outfit. I have one in black also so I can match my clothes accordingly.
Generally I don’t like Coach Outlet purses (I feel like I’m getting duped), but this one is an exception. The classic style and colors makes it extremely versatile, and I’ve gotten just as many compliments on it as my other bags.
And in case you were wondering what the fluffy thing was next to my boots in photo #1, that’s Cooper’s bum making a cameo
Hello and happy November! Can you believe it’s almost the end of the year? Anyways, for the longest time I’ve been searching for quality makeup brushes without having to spend a fortune. The Beauty of Essence brushes were decent for the price I paid, but it wasn’t until I purchased the Real Technique brushes that I’ve finally found my tools of trade:
Real Technique Core Collection – $17.99
My favorites in this set are the Contour brush and Buffing brush. The bristles are soft and dense and make for excellent application. The Detailer brush is quite nice for applying lipstick or concealer.
Beauty Blender – $19.95 There are many variations of this tool, but I have the original one and I love it. I spritz it with a bit of Mac Fix+ and it applies & blends foundation like a charm.
e.l.f Studio Blush Brush – $3
For $3 this brush is pretty incredible. It’s soft, dense, and the contoured angle makes for an easy blush application.
e.l.f Studio Powder Brush – $3
This is definitely my favorite of all the e.l.f brushes. It’s great not only for applying pressed or finishing powder, but the dense fibers also make it great for buffing. And $3!!
e.l.f Essential Eye Shadow Brush – $1
This has been my go-to eye shadow brush for years, until it recently got replaced with the Real Technique ones. But even then, I still think it’s a great brush, especially for someone who just started experimenting with makeup.
Real Technique Starter Kit - $17.99
Again another set of excellent brushes, especially the Deluxe Crease brush and Base Shadow brush. At first I thought the brushes might be a bit big for my eyes, but they turned out to be perfect. The Accent brush is also really great for precision detailing and smudging.
I highly recommend the 2 Real Technique sets, especially when Ulta has a BOGO 50% sale. Between the 2 sets you pretty have all your basic brushes covered. But if you want to keep cost low, then e.l.f would be the way to go.
Hope you enjoyed this mini review! I’d love to hear what your favorite makeup brushes/tools are!
As my search for my HG hair products continues, I figured I would give the legendary Kerastase brand a try. After all, drugstore products weren’t working for me, so maybe you really do get what you pay for? But alas:
With so many people swearing by Nectar Thermique and Elixir Ultime, I had high hopes. But after a using it for a couple weeks, I didn’t get the super soft strands I was promised. Here’s a quick rundown:
Both products had really nice scents. Like, seriously nice scents. +
Neither products were heavy or oily, which is great for fine hair. +
The Elixir Ultime did a good job of calming my flyaway and taming my frizz. +
There are plenty of other products that can accomplish the above 3. –
For a lot less $$$. – — –
So yes, the products were nice, but nothing that blew me away. And with the price I was paying, I was expected nothing less than to be blown away. To make a short story shorter, no, I would NOT repurchase Kerastase products in the future, and my hunt for my HG hair product continues.
Yes, I did just purchase several new beauty products at ULTA not too long ago, but then there’s always new products coming out and I’m constantly rediscovering old products through other beauty blogs, and it’s just a never-ending cycle
I love my nude/natural palettes and I’ve heard great reviews about the quality and color of the Marc Jacobs palette. I like the balance between matte and metallic shades (love my UD Naked, but way too much shimmy shimmer), and bonus points for the sleek case!
2. Maybelline Color Elixir – coming soon
My latest lip obsessions have been lip stains – yes to staying power! – so I was really excited to hear that Maybelline is coming out with one as well. I still adore my L’oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstains, but I’m always game to trying something new.
I’m completely sold on the Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm, so when I found out this was the original formula with more than 50+ years of history, I knew I wanted this. Besides, my dry cuticles could use some love in this cold weather.
I used to be iffy about lash serums/primers, but after reading the reviews I’m now convinced that my sad short lashes need this baby. Not only is a a lash growth serum, it’s also a primer which supposedly amplifies your mascara by 1000x. Sign me up please!
Sleep on one to minimize wrinkles and eliminate bed hair. When I started using these, my coworker noticed immediately and thought I had styled my hair that morning. Nope, styled it the night before, and it still looked great the day after.
