Week 1: Assassin’s Creed II, Shark Tank, and macarons
Though I officially finished my exams last Friday, it feels like I’ve been done for over a week! From today, I’ll have 3 more weeks before I officially start working. So asides from studying1, this is what I’ve been up to the past week:
Assassin’s Creed II
This was an accident. I meant to buy the first one, but when I got home and started playing, I realized I bought 2 instead. No big deal, as this game turned out to be friggin awesome. I love the graphics and the details – I find myself walking around just to check out the buildings and people! I also like how you have to solve puzzles and mysteries, so it’s not just a button mashing game. Of course, that’s not to say the fighting part isn’t fun either, though I’m still trying to get a hang of the jumping technique.
Highly recommend this game for people who want a bit of everything: rpg, puzzles, and fighting.
New York City, revisited
I went back to NYC this weekend for my friend’s birthday, and of course, how could I not stop at Laduree for some macarons? They were still having the Hello Kitty edition boxes, so I got my friend that for her birthday, as well as a 24-piece box for myself2. Except this time I controlled myself and didn’t eat them all in one day so I could finally take a picture
I also got to try shwarma for the first time, and it turned out to be really good! I had falafels before, but I didn’t like it much. I expected shwarma to be the same, but it ended up being a lot better. I knew Ironman’s suggestions3 had to be good
Shark Tank
Both Gossip Girl and The Big Bang Theory ended their current season and no new episodes are expected until September. So instead I’ve been watching Shark Tank, which is about hopeful entrepreneurs that come and pitch their business ideas to these self-made billion/millionaires in hope of getting them to invest. While watching the investors shit on crappy business ideas is hilarious, I also find this show to be quite educational. Some of the business ideas/products are really amazing, and it’s always nice to see an “update” on a business that’s been pitched in past episodes. Makes me want to start my own business!
