SKIN AQUA Tone Up UV Essence (Latte Beige)

Loved this initially as it had the elegant texture typical of Japanese sunscreens, and offered just the slightest tint that gave you a “your-skin-but-better” finish. Absolutely perfect for everyday wear and I loved how it made my skin look… until I realized it was also slowly tanning my skin. Not because the sunscreen itself didn’t work, but I think it doubles as a self tanner! That’s a big no for me, but I know a lot of people would actually appreciate this extra feature.

Murad Cellular Hydration Barrier Repair Cream Moisturizer

I was so excited to use this with my tretinoin but oof this was disappointing. I found it neither hydrating more particularly “repairing”. If anything, it made my skin even warmer when used on irritated skin! It does have some nice ingredients like nourishing plant oils and allantoin, but sadly the results weren’t it for me. I much prefer their Hydration Nutrient-Charged Water Gel!

Paula’s Choice 20% Niacinamide Treatment

Full review here. One of the best products out there for minimizing the appearance of pores if you have mature skin. For me BHA can only do so much, because my pores aren’t so much clogged as they are sagging, and this serum really helps with that, especially when you pair it with the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid. Highly recommend to anyone who struggles with large pores.

MISSHA All Around Safe Block Aqua

A seriously underrated sunscreen, especially for the price! It feels just as elegant and lightweight as some of the popular spf’s like Beauty of Joseon, maybe a touch more moisturizing, which my dry skin appreciates. The one downside is that this one is not independently tested and contains filters like Homosalate.

Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream

I really enjoyed the serum from this line but the eye cream was disappointing. The light cream texture wasn’t hydrating enough in my opinion and didn’t do much for my fine lines, ie. they were more noticeable since I switched to this eye cream. Could be good for younger folks who are looking for more preventative measures, especially for the great price.

Superegg Sound Renewal Serum Cream

Comes in a cute egg shaped bottle with a squeeze cap, with a delightful gel cream texture that all skin types will appreciate. It also has some really good ingredients like green tea extracts, peptides, peptides, panthenol, and fatty acids. I do think its aesthetics is what really stands out, rather than the formula or performance. It’s pretty good, but not so good I think it’s a must have.

NEOSTRATA Intensive Eye Therapy

Oof I had such high hopes for this one. The light gel texture felt moisturizing without being heavy, and it contains some great ingredients like peptides and hyaluronic acid. But this did absolutely nothing for my undereye area. In fact while using this my fine lines became more pronounced! I quickly switched eye creams and luckily the fine lines softened again. Definitely not for mature skin types!

Chanel N°1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Serum

It’s Chanel, of course it smells and feels amazing on the skin, and of course it costs 2-3x as much as comparable serums. Did not deliver twice the results, and performed even worse than a lot of more affordable serums. It’s not bad per se, just ridiculously overpriced for what it does.
