Long-term pore control with Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum
Written By Jenny Wu on
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I have 2 major skin woes: dark spots and large pores (which eventually leads to blackheads…yuck). However, after using the Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum for 1+ month now, I do believe I’ve taken care of my large pores crisis!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had large pores and blackheads. I’ve finally gotten my blackheads under control with the help of Ciracle Pore Control Blackhead Off Sheet, but my pores were still flouting about and being total eyesores. Jerks. So when I was given the chance to try the Skinmiso Pore Coreset Serum from Wishtrend, I threw myself at it because heck if anything needed a corset, it’s my pores #fatporesproblem.
The Skinmiso Pore Coreset Serum claims to help your skin maintain its water-oil balance and reduce the size of your pores in the long run. One of the main causes of large pores is when your skin produces too much oil, which in turn is often caused by lack of water. So to fix the problem at its root, water-oil balance is essential, and I love that this serum tackles that rather than just temporarily shrinking the pores.
The bottle itself, while plastic, feels quite substantial. It comes with a dropper/pipette, which is quite common for Korean serums. I would prefer a pump for airtightness and minimal oxidization, but I do like the control pipettes give you.
You can view a list of the ingredients on CosDNA, and this does contain a few possible acne triggers and irritants. It also contains parabens, but I’ve come to realize that ingredients aren’t everything, so this didn’t bother me too much. I do wish some of the plant extracts were higher up on the ingredient list though.
How I Use This
Depending on whether I’m doing a spot treatment or an all-over application, my product usage varies. Water-oil balance is essential for healthy skin, especially for someone with combination + dehydrated skin like me. While this is not really hydrating by itself, it does helps control my sebum production in the t-zone.
Day: I will apply this all over my face after my toner as part of my serum step. The watery texture makes it easy to spread and the finish is natural and not one bit sticky. I use a pea-sized drop and gently spread it out on my face and pat in the product.
Night: Since product absorption rate is at its peak while you’re sleeping, I prefer to make room for all my heavy-duty serums instead. I’ll only use half a pea-size of the serum and tap it into my t-zones.
Results
Disclaimer: The Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum will not give you spetacular overnight results. As a matter of fact, I didn’t notice much for the first 2 weeks, but I thought “Eff it, what do I have to lose?” and stuck through with it. After using this day + night for about a month, I started noticing that my pores have gotten smaller and that my t-zones also seem to be less oily during the day, which is incredible since I recently switched to a heavier SPF. In a nutshell, yes, this works.
