Sustainable sheet masking with TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask
Written By Jenny Wu on
I’m a fan of sheet masking, and have been since middle school, a habit I picked up while living in Taiwan. But I know some people aren’t fans, and their reasons are that sheet masking is 1) expensive af 2) wasteful. Fair enough.
Well what if I told you there was a sheet mask that cost $1 per mask, more sustainable, and still effective? Yes the perfect trifecta of sheet masking does exist and it’s the TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask.

A white plastic case with an inner resealable opening. Includes a pair of plastic tweezers to remove the individual masks. The tweezers clip in place on the inside of the lid so you won’t lose it.

TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask Ingredient List
As far as ingredients go TO DO LIST has included some fantastic ones:
- Honey – An ingredient that’s been in use for thousands of years, with modern research showing moisturizing, antioxidant, antibacterial, and skin soothing benefits. One of my favorites for a reason!1
- Propolis – Also sourced from bees, it’s well known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties.2
- Adenosine – A multipurpose ingredient that can help with wound healing, barrier health, and even collagen production!8
- Allantoin – A commonly found skin soothing ingredient. Dermatologist Dr. Jarrod Frank recommends it to those with irritated or inflamed skin, especially from using actives like acids or retinol.
- Humectants like Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, and Trehalose. They keep the skin hydrated by drawing and retaining moisture on the skin.
- Emollients like Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Squalane, Cholesterol, and Ceramide. These play a crucial role in maintaining our skin barrier health and keeping our skin soft and smooth.3
In their latest reformulation, they’ve also included their proprietary Bium Concentrate, which is a blend of the following:
- Ginseng Extract – A popular ingredient in Korean skincare, there’s evidence to show that it can help prevent hyperpigmentation, photoaging, and improve fine lines and wrinkles.4,5
- Tremella Fuciformis Polysaccharide – Mainly functions as a humectant but can also help protect against UVA damage.6
- Green Tea Extract – A well-researched antioxidant with anti-inflammatory benefits. Its main active component EGCG has also been found to fade discoloration by helping reduce the production of melanin.7
Most of the ingredients are beneficial to the skin, with the rest being emulsifiers and solvents. You won’t find anything harsh in here, and that’s because the founder, licensed pharmacist Minji Kim, suffered from psoriasis herself and wanted to create a product that even her sensitive skin could use and benefit from. But of course, your mileage may vary, so always patch test first!
How to use the TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask
Materials
- TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask
Instructions
- After cleansing and toning, use the tweezers to remove one sheet mask from the container, and quickly reseal the opening.
- You can also apply a non-active water-based serum (so no acids or retinol) before the mask to boost the serum's efficacy!
- Make sure the mask lies flatly against your skin and remove as many of the air bubbles as possible.
- Leave on for about 10 minutes until you feel like most of the moisture is gone. The sheet mask shouldn't be damp but shouldn't feel dry either. Check your forehead or nose area as that's usually the first to dry up.
- Remove from the bottom up, starting with the chin area!
- If there's some leftover essence on the mask you can gently wipe it on your neck, decolletage, or even hands!
- Continue with the rest of your skincare routine.
- Use this mask at least every other day to finish it within 2 months.
Usage Experience & Results
I consider myself a bit of a sheet masking snob, and have several single pack masks that I already enjoy using. However my experience with multi-pack masks range from meh to what is this crap. So when I tried the original version of the TO DO LIST Honey Glow Mask years ago, imagine my surprise to find that it’s actually good.
Let’s talk about positives. It doesn’t drip all over the place. I know we all want to get a bang for our buck but when masks hold too much essence, you just end up with the extra on your clothes. Not cute. Plus, our skin can only absorb so much product anyways. With this mask my skin actually absorbs all the essence, so there’s no film left afterwards.
Second, I love that it just takes 10 minutes per mask, which actually makes it feasible to wear in the morning. Not only does the masking action help with previous product absorption, the extra hydration is great before applying makeup!
Result wise you get the added hydration plus a subtle glow to the skin. It’s not going to wow you like individual sheet masks, but that initial “wow” is temporary anyways. The gentle formula of the TO DO LIST means you can actually use it more frequently, so you can get the cumulative effects of all the great ingredients.
With that said, the results are like a double edged sword. Sometimes I sheet masks specifically for that temporary WOW effect, especially before a big event. If that’s your goal, you’re better off with a traditional single use mask.

Another issue I found was the fit. The forehead and nose areas were on the smaller side, while extra material bunched up around the mouth area. This results in uneven drying time, though I still get at least 10 minutes of use per mask.
Also I’ve had a few masks where the holes weren’t completely cut, and I had to manually remove the extra material. It actually worked out because I could add those extra pieces that could use more hydration, like under the eyes.
Similar Products
Lululun Over 45 Sheet Mask
Reviewed here. Provides similar moisturizing results at around the same price point. Love the plush yet stretchy material, the fit of the Lululun is noticeably better. However the ingredients aren’t as great, so it depends on what you value. Can’t go wrong with either!
Medicube Super Cica Daily Quick Masks
Comes in a similar packaging but the cotton feels slightly thinner. Similar fit and wear time, and this one feels more soothing than moisturizing. It’s not bad, but I personally prefer TO DO LIST.
Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask
Reviewed here. I remember this had all sorts of “bestseller” and “#1” signs at the drugstore in Japan, which is why I bought it. It’s essence rich and stayed moist for 40+ minutes, but the fabric was thin and ripped easily, which is surprising considering how much essence it could hold. Didn’t do much besides basic hydration though, and the resealable bag packaging is poorly designed.
Jumiso Water Splash Mask
While individually packed, these are also $1 per mask and the results rival high end brands. Super soft material and your skin will look incredible afterwards, even if it’s just temporary.
My Beauty Diary Imperial Bird Nest Mask
The og sheet mask brand, and this version is still one of my favorites to date. Super thin mask that molds perfectly to your skin, this will stay moist for at least 30+ minutes, though it can be drippy. Leaves my skin so nourished and bright every time. Individually packaged.
Final Verdict
Pros
- Sustainable double cap packaging keeps masks fresh while reducing waste.
- No messy drippage when applying and wearing the mask.
- Adds a nice hydration and glow to the skin.
- Ingredients are gentle enough to use daily, assuming there are no allergies.
Cons
- Fit could be improved, and sometimes the holes aren’t fully cut out.
- Results not as impressive as single use sheet masks.
- 2 month shelf life means you need to use this diligently!

If waste and cost are your main deterrents to sheet masking, the TO DO LIST Honey Mask may just change your mind. I also love the relatively gentle formulas, which is important when you’re applying this every (other) day. While not a must have in a skincare routine, it’s still a great and affordable way to treat yourself (and your skin). Think of it as a mini spa session at home, which isn’t far off since these same masks will be available in spas as well!

I am not someone that misses sheet masks if they don't have them and I never buy them for waste reasons, so I am not an expert on them. I only reach for them occasionally, when I get some via PR.
